    this toy totally crap.

    simply is better !!!

I guess you are speaking from personal experience? No?

I think it looks like fun and those who have tried it said “it’s actually really light and, despite its rectangular shape, quite comfortable in your hands.”

He’s right though. What you’ve got here is a big Nintendo DS which plugs into a TV, which you don’t need to look at. At least they’re trying, shame they’re failing.

  4. Stakker said:

Not quite. I don’t think you have figured out what the WII U really is.

It is a console capable of running games in 1080p where you can play the games with the GamePad, Pro Controller, Wiimote + Nunchuk, the Wii Balanceboard and propably more peripherals.

Also, being able to play Nintendos own games plus third party games like Assassins Creed 3 on the console sounds great in my book.

  5. Brandon said:

This console will be what causes nintendo to go from console leader to being a third party developer. Oh how the mighty have fallen

  6. Stakker said:

Thats a rather bold statement with no facts to back it up.
Care to share why you think the Wii U will fail?

Nintendo isn’t what it used to be…the only game worth anything on this console will be super mario bros…and only because it hasen’t changed that much from it’s roots. The big chunky brick shaped controller with the screen is totally unecessary and uses so much energy for nothing. I would get it but at launch they are gonna charge loads of money just before Christmas…$400-$300 which is a lot seeing how much games cost, lower your prices ffs. Nintendo if you are hearing you should bundle it with mario. This console will be a success…and then the xbox720 and ps4 will come out and aim for more hardcore gaming.

who cares! at least the pro controller looks normal, thats all we need, the rest suck.

  9. Stakker said:

Define “all”. Do you include the 20 000 000 people who bought Wii Fit?

You have to realize that different people have different definitions of what they need and whats right for you might not be right for everyone else.
Imagine playing Fallout with the Pip-Boy on the GamePad, that would be awesome.

Nice job stikin up for Nintendo Stakker! They never dissapoint! I’m sure adjusting to 2 screens takes only a second. And can work to the developers advantage. Like on ZombiU, havin to watch 2 screens, it would be terrifying!

  11. Stakker said:

Thanx! I don’t understand why some people fail to understand the possibilites with the Wii U but i’m sure they will come around in time. :-)

Batman looked frustrating. So many attempts.

  13. Michael said:

Yes, two screens is better than one!!! Even though much of the time you will be totally ignoring that pretty little 52″ (or whichever size you prefer) 1080p you have right in front of you………….. I can hardly believe that this system will sell but I know it will…………………

  14. Frederick H W Lim said:

Pointless idea, I can only look at ONE screen at a time, unless I am a monster with 2 pairs of eyes. Stupid Nintendo

  15. Nev3rtime said:

Looking forward to it.. Anyone who’s used a ds will know the advantages of a second touch screen and of course it will sell because (Short of emulators) nintendo consoles are the only way to play nintendos excellent first party games.

  16. Josh Danby said:

I think there’s only certain games that are gonna work well with this system, the problem you’ve got is shoehorning the peripheral into the gameplay – look at batman there.. is there ANY reason you need the extra screen to chuck a batarang in first person? Why can’t the huge plasma screen just revert to first person and use a tilt sensitive controller to do it all with one screen? The only times I’d see it being useful are maybe so you can have a cool detailed map or item screen on in-depth RPGs. You could use it for lots of other controls but once again the PC has that licked with keyboard and mouse, which is far more tactile and doesn’t require looking at multiple things at once. I do hope it works out well and we get some really nice innovative titles but after the current state of gimmicky gaming peripherals, I don’t think I’m the right kind of gamer to benefit. This is once again more for the casual gaming market and kids I think.

    cool

  18. Stakker said:

Yeah, thats why the DS and 3DS were such huge failures…oh wait..

  19. Joel Hall said:

There’s a significant difference here. The DS and 3DS has screens right next to each other, at about the same focal distance from the user. And one could be used as a control surface.

This has screens far apart, and at drastically different focal distances. They don’t have a fixed relationship, either (they move independently, relative to the user).

I can see this being successful, or being a flop.

Like all new interfaces, this will require adjustment. Practice will make it second nature, I imagine, but I still see issues having to rapidly adjust your focus between the close up and the far away.

Did no one else see the modern looking classic gameboy @ 2:45 ?

  24. Falcon D. Stormvoice said:

They mouthed off the same way about the Wii. “HA! Motion control! That’s stupid! That will never go anywhere!”

A short time later, Sony and Microsoft were racing to come up with motion control systems of their own.

  25. Ryan Adam Schutte said:

It’s an iPad clone, obviously. Apple’s queueing Nintendo up in their lawsuit machine right now.

  26. Harsha said:

2 screens = 1/2 the time to degrade my vision, Yay!

  27. AlexX said:

its an iphone case, if you pause you can clearly make out the camera hole and the hole at the bottom for the speakers and connector port :D they are neat cases tho lol

Omg i need to have one now

  31. Ruby Doobie said:

    please be joking.
The Wii U is expanding on ideas experimented with on the DS.

  32. Bryan said:

Why not just make a handheld gaming system? The TV screen looks useless since you only stair at the handheld most of the time. I don’t get this concept.

  33. Mike Criley said:

    Wow! This looks major awkward.
    Big step back Nintendo.

  34. Blakk Khmermageddon said:

For some reason, just watching them play makes me uncomfortable. Thats just too much looking around. i mean how long can a person eyes keep going from the big screen to the small one before realizing that you look like some over caffeinated tweeker. I think i like it simple.

  35. Real rap said:

Yo yo need the second screen to move real rap man.

  36. Monkey face said:

You stop it big monkey face

  37. Ivo135 said:

the 2 screens seem pointless, and the graphics are only as good as the existing Microsoft and Playstations that are out already.

  38. NONONONO WIIU said:

WOW, I have a 61″ TV but they want me to play on a TAB all day. WTF? how is this fun?

  39. Stakker said:

Did you even watch the video? I see a large tv on the wall.
No one forces you to play on the GamePad unless you want to.
